When spring started, I caught some wooly bear caterpillars. I kept them until they became moths. The first one I caught, I named Dexter. The second one is Chester and the final one was AJ. AJ was special because unlike the other caterpillars, his black stripes weren't the same size as eachother. Anyway, AJ was the last to make a cocoon and the last to emerge from his pupal stage. AJ is a strange moth because when I poked him, he made squeaking noises. This is especially note-worthy because I've read in books and other sources that the only insect able to emit "screams" from it's throat was the Death's Head Hawk Moth. Are the books wrong? I don't know. i find it unlikely that I would be the first one to discover this. But that's how it seems. I can't find information anywhere online about the screams of isabella tiger moths. Isn't that weird? Well, anyway, all of my adorable caterpillars grew up into beautiful moths. Ofcourse, I let them all go and they flew away. Except for AJ. I left him out on my deck this morning so that he may leave but he's just chillin' there. I'm so glad that I succeeded in taking good care of them. Well.... that's all, folks!
